  1. 1The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
  2. 2"Tell the people of Israel: When you finally enter the land I'm giving you to live in,
  3. 3and you present a fire offering to the LORD — whether a burnt offering or a sacrifice to fulfill a vow, a freewill offering, or an offering during one of your appointed festivals — producing a pleasing aroma to the LORD from your cattle or flocks,
  4. 4Then he who offers his offering to the LORD shall bring a meat offering of a 10th part of flour mixed with 1/4 of a hin of oil.
  5. 5Along with each lamb, you must also prepare 1/4 of a hin of wine as a drink offering, whether it accompanies a burnt offering or any other sacrifice.
  6. 6Or for a ram, you shall prepare a meat offering of 2 10th parts of flour mixed with 1/3 of a hin of oil.
  7. 7For the drink offering, present 1/3 of a hin of wine as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
  8. 8When you prepare a bull as a burnt offering, as a sacrifice to fulfill a vow, or as a peace offering to the LORD,
  9. 9Then he shall bring with a bullock a meat offering of 3 10th parts of flour mixed with 1/2 a hin of oil.
  10. 10Also present 1/2 a hin of wine as a drink offering. This is a fire offering that produces a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
  11. 11Follow these measurements for each bull, each ram, each lamb, or each young goat.
  12. 12However many animals you offer, prepare the proper grain and drink offering for each one.
  13. 13Every native-born Israelite must follow these instructions when presenting a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
  14. 14If a foreigner living among you — whether now or in any future generation — wants to present a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the LORD, he must follow the same instructions you do.
  15. 15The same rule applies to everyone in the community, whether native-born or foreigner. This is a permanent law for all generations. In the LORD's eyes, you and the foreigner are equal.
  16. 16One law and one standard applies to both you and any foreigner living among you."
  17. 17The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
  18. 18"Tell the people of Israel: When you arrive in the land where I am bringing you,
  19. 19and when you eat of the bread of the land, you shall offer a heave offering to the LORD.
  20. 20Offer up a cake from the first of your dough as a heave offering. As you do with the heave offering of the threshing floor, so shall you heave it.
  21. 21From the first of your dough, you shall give a heave offering to the LORD throughout your generations.
  22. 22Now, if the community unintentionally fails to keep any of these commands that the LORD gave through Moses —
  23. 23anything the LORD commanded through Moses from the time he first gave these instructions and for all generations to come —
  24. 24If anything is committed through ignorance without the congregation’s knowledge, the whole congregation shall offer 1 young bullock as a burnt offering for a sweet savor to the LORD, with its meat offering and drink offering according to the manner, and 1 kid of the goats as a sin offering.
  25. 25The priest will make atonement for the entire community of Israel, and they will be forgiven. It was an honest mistake, and they have brought their fire offering to the LORD along with their sin offering for their error.
  26. 26The whole community of Israel will be forgiven, including any foreigners living among them, since the entire people sinned unintentionally.
  27. 27If an individual sins unintentionally, that person must bring a 1-year-old female goat as a sin offering.
  28. 28The priest will make atonement before the LORD for the person who sinned unintentionally, and that person will be forgiven.
  29. 29The same law for unintentional sin applies to everyone — whether native-born Israelite or foreigner living among you.
  30. 30But anyone who sins defiantly — whether native-born or foreigner — insults the LORD directly. That person must be cut off from the community.
  31. 31Because that person treated the LORD's word with contempt and deliberately broke his commandment, they must be completely cut off. Their guilt remains on them."
  32. 32While the Israelites were still in the wilderness, they caught a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.
  33. 33The people who found him brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the whole community.
  34. 34They held him in custody because no one had yet determined what his punishment should be.
  35. 35Then the LORD told Moses, "This man must be put to death. The entire community must take him outside the camp and stone him."
  36. 36So the whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
  37. 37The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
  38. 38"Tell the people of Israel to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout every generation, with a blue cord woven into each tassel.
  39. 39It shall be a fringe for you, so that you may look upon it, remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them, and so that you do not seek after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you used to go whoring.
  40. 40This way you'll remember to obey all my commandments and be holy before your God.
  41. 41I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God."
