- 1Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
- 2Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked, from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity,
- 3who sharpen their tongue like a sword and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words,
- 4to shoot in secret at the perfect. Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.
- 5They encourage each other in an evil plan. They talk about setting traps in secret; they say, 'Who will see them?'
- 6They investigate iniquities and conduct a thorough search. The inner thoughts and hearts of each one of them are deep.
- 7But God will shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they will be wounded.
- 8So they will make their own tongue to fall upon themselves. All who see them will flee away.
- 9And all men will fear and will declare the work of God, for they will wisely consider his doing.
- 10The righteous will be glad in the LORD and will trust in him, and all the upright in heart will glory.
