1. 1And he showed me a river of the water of life, pure and clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2. 2In the middle of the street, and on each side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3. 3There will never be any curse again. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.
4. 4They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
5. 5Night will no longer exist there. They won't need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God himself will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.
6. 6Then the angel told me, "These words are faithful and true. The Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show his servants what must happen soon."
7. 7"Look — I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who obeys the words of prophecy in this book."
8. 8I, John, am the one who heard and saw all of this. After hearing and seeing it, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown me these things.
9. 9But he told me, "Don't do that! I'm a fellow servant alongside you, your brothers the prophets, and everyone who obeys the words of this book. Worship God."
10. 10Then he told me, "Don't seal up the words of prophecy in this book, because the time is near."
11. 11Let the one who is unjust remain unjust. Let the one who is filthy remain filthy. Let the one who is righteous remain righteous. And let the one who is holy remain holy.
12. 12"Look — I am coming soon, and I'm bringing my reward with me. I will repay each person according to what they have done."
13. 13"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."
14. 14Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city.
15. 15For outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
16. 16"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright Morning Star."
17. 17The Holy Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" Let everyone who hears this say, "Come!" Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wants it take the water of life as a free gift.
18. 18I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to these things, God will add to that person the plagues that are written in this book.
19. 19And if anyone takes away from the words of this prophetic book, God will take away that person's share from the book of life, from the holy city, and from the things written in this book.
20. 20The one who testifies to all of this says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
21. 21May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
