- 1How beautiful you are, my love; how beautiful you are! Your eyes behind your veil are like doves. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Mount Gilead.
- 2Your teeth are like a flock of sheep that have been freshly shorn and have come up from the washing; each one has a twin, and none is without its pair.
- 3Your lips are like a thread of scarlet, and your speech is lovely. Your temples are like a piece of pomegranate behind your veil.
- 4Your neck is like the tower of David, built as an armory, where a thousand shields hang, all belonging to mighty warriors.
- 5Your two breasts are like twin fawns of a gazelle, grazing among the lilies.
- 6Until the day breaks and the shadows slip away, I will go to the mountain of myrrh and the hill of frankincense.
- 7You are completely beautiful, my love. There isn't a single flaw in you.
- 8Come with me from Lebanon, my bride — come with me from Lebanon! Look down from the peak of Amana, from the summit of Senir and Hermon, from the dens where lions hide, from the mountains where leopards roam.
- 9You have taken away my heart, my sister, my spouse. You have taken away my heart with one of your eyes, with one chain of your neck.
- 10How wonderful is your love, my sister, my bride! Your love is so much better than wine, and the fragrance of your perfumes surpasses every spice.
- 11Your lips drip sweetness like the honeycomb, my bride. Honey and milk rest under your tongue, and the scent of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.
- 12My sister, my bride, you are a garden locked away, a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.
- 13Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; henna with spikenard,
- 14Spikenard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices.
- 15A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon.
- 16Wake up, north wind! Come, south wind! Blow through my garden and let its spices drift on the air. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its delicious fruit.
