Hiding from God

The Fall · The garden of Eden

Genesis 3:8–13

8And they heard the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves among the trees, away from the presence of the LORD God. 9The LORD God called out to the man, "Where are you?" 10He answered, "I heard you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid." 11God asked, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree I told you not to eat from?" 12The man said, "The woman you gave to be with me — she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it." 13Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What have you done?" She answered, "The serpent tricked me, and I ate."
