Before Abraham Was, I Am

⁵⁶"Your ancestor Abraham was overjoyed at the prospect of seeing my day. He saw it and was filled with joy." ⁵⁷The Jewish leaders protested, "You're not even 50 years old, and you've seen Abraham?" ⁵⁸Jesus declared, "Truly, truly, I tell you: before Abraham existed, I am." ⁵⁹At that, they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus concealed himself and left the temple, passing right through the crowd and going on his way.
