“I Am He” at the Arrest

⁴Jesus, fully aware of everything that was about to happen to him, stepped forward and asked them, "Who are you looking for?" ⁵"Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. Jesus told them, "I am he." Judas, the one betraying him, was standing right there with them. ⁶The moment Jesus said, "I am he," they drew back and fell to the ground. ⁷So he asked them again, "Who are you looking for?" They said, "Jesus of Nazareth." ⁸Jesus answered, "I told you that I am he. So if you are looking for me, let these men go."
