Breakfast by the Sea

¹After these things, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. Here is how it happened. ²Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples were together. ³Simon Peter told them, "I'm going out to fish." They said to him, "We'll go with you." They went out and got into a boat immediately, but they caught nothing that night. ⁴When morning came, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples didn't know it was Jesus. ⁵Jesus called out to them, "Children, have you caught anything?" They answered him, "No." ⁶He told them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you'll find some." So they cast it, and they couldn't haul it in because of the great number of fish. ⁷Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had stripped it off) and threw himself into the sea. ⁸The other disciples came in the small boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from land — only about two hundred cubits. ⁹When they came to land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish laid on it, and bread. ¹⁰Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught." ¹¹Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish — 153 of them — and even though there were so many, the net was not torn. ¹²Jesus said to them, "Come and eat." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" — knowing that it was the Lord. ¹³Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise. ¹⁴This was now the third time Jesus revealed himself to his disciples after he had risen from the dead.
