Water into Wine at Cana

¹On the third day, a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. ²Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. ³When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." ⁴Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with me? My hour has not yet come." ⁵His mother told the servants, "Whatever he tells you, do it." ⁶Nearby stood six stone water jars used for Jewish ceremonial washing, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. ⁷Jesus told them, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them to the brim. ⁸Then he said, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast." So they took it to him. ⁹When the ruler of the feast tasted the water that had been made into wine, he did not know where it came from — though the servants who had drawn the water knew. The ruler of the feast called the bridegroom ¹⁰and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have had plenty to drink. But you have kept the good wine until now." ¹¹This was the first of his miraculous signs, which Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
