Following Jesus · Capernaum
66From that time, many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. 67So Jesus said to the Twelve, "Do you want to go away as well?" 68Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life." 69"And we have believed and have come to know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
After Jesus taught that he is the bread of life, many of his followers turned back and stopped following him. Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?” Simon Peter answered, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”
Capernaum
A town by the Sea of Galilee. Jesus lived here during his work in Galilee.
Event 3 of 8 in Following Jesus: Peter walks on the water, says Jesus is the Christ, and sees him transfigured.
John 6:59 says the teaching before this was given in the synagogue at Capernaum. In John 6:69 the KJV reads “that Christ, the Son of the living God.” The BSB reads “the Holy One of God.”
