  3. 3The king of Egypt removed him from power in Jerusalem and imposed a fine on the land of 100 talents of silver and a talent of gold.
  4. 4Then the king of Egypt placed Jehoahaz's brother Eliakim on the throne of Judah and Jerusalem, changing his name to Jehoiakim. Necho took Jehoahaz away to Egypt.

  8. 8The rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, including the abominations he committed and what was found in him, are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. His son Jehoiachin succeeded him as king.
  9. 9Jehoiachin was 8 years old when he became king, and he ruled in Jerusalem for 3 months and 10 days. He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD.

  15. 15The LORD God of their ancestors sent his messengers to them early and repeatedly because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place.
  16. 16But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words, and misused his prophets until the LORD's anger rose against his people, until there was no remedy.
  17. 17So God brought the king of the Chaldeans against them. He slaughtered their young men with the sword right inside the sanctuary. He showed no mercy — not to young men or young women, not to the elderly or those who were bent with age. God handed them all over to him.
  18. 18Every vessel from the house of God, large and small, along with the treasures of the LORD's house and the treasures of the king and his officials — all of it was carried off to Babylon.

  23. 23"This is what King Cyrus of Persia declares: 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me every kingdom on earth, and he has appointed me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Anyone among you who belongs to his people — may the LORD his God be with him. Let him go up.'"
