  1. 1As God's coworkers, we urge you: don't let the grace God has given you be wasted.
  2. 2For he says, “I have heard you in an accepted time, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Look, now is the accepted time. Look, now is the day of salvation.
  3. 3We do everything we can to avoid giving anyone a reason to find fault with our ministry.
  4. 4Instead, in every situation we prove ourselves to be true servants of God — through great endurance, through afflictions, hardships, and desperate circumstances,
  5. 5through beatings, imprisonments, and riots, through exhausting labor, sleepless nights, and hunger,
  6. 6through purity, knowledge, patience, and kindness, through the Holy Spirit and sincere love,
  7. 7through the word of truth, by the power of God, with the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
  8. 8through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise; as deceivers, yet true;
  9. 9We're seen as unknown, yet well known; as dying, and look, we live; as disciplined, but not killed.
  10. 10We are sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, yet possessing everything.
  11. 11Corinthians, we have spoken openly to you; our heart is wide open.
  12. 12You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections.
  13. 13So as a fair exchange — and I'm talking to you like a father talks to his children — open your hearts wide to us too.
  14. 14Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness? And what communion does light have with darkness?
  15. 15What agreement does Christ have with Belial? What part does a believer have with an unbeliever?
  16. 16What agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said, “I will live in them and walk in them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
  17. 17That's why the Lord says, "Come out from among them and be separate. Don't touch anything unclean, and I will receive you.
  18. 18I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters," says the Lord Almighty.
