1. 1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints in Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2. 2May grace and peace be yours from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. 3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
4. 4Before the world was even created, God chose us in Christ to be holy and blameless before him in love.
5. 5He decided in advance to adopt us as his own children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will.
6. 6To the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the Beloved.
7. 7In Christ, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our sins, according to the riches of his grace.
8. 8He has lavished that grace on us with all wisdom and understanding,
9. 9making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself:
10. 10that in the administration of the fullness of times, he might gather together all things in Christ, both those in heaven and those on earth, in him:
11. 11In Christ, we have also received an inheritance. God predestined this according to his purpose, and he accomplishes everything according to the plan of his own will.
12. 12That we, who first trusted in Christ, should be for the praise of his glory.
13. 13In him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. In him also, after you believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14. 14which is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.
15. 15That's why I also, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
16. 16haven't stopped giving thanks for you, mentioning you in my prayers,
17. 17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing him:
18. 18May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened, so you may know the hope of his calling and the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19. 19and what is the exceeding greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his mighty strength,
20. 20that God demonstrated in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
21. 21far above every ruler, authority, power, and dominion — above every name that can be named, not only in this age but in the age to come.
22. 22God has placed everything under Christ's feet and made him the head over all things for the church,
23. 23which is his body — the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
