- 1From the blue, purple, and scarlet materials, they made the cloths of service for use in the holy place, and also made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses.
- 2They made the ephod from gold thread, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely twisted linen.
- 3They hammered gold into thin sheets, then cut it into narrow threads so it could be woven into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and the fine linen — all of it expertly crafted.
- 4They made shoulder straps for the ephod, attaching them so the piece was joined together at its two edges.
- 5The decorative waistband was made from the same materials and crafted as one piece with the ephod — gold thread, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely twisted linen — just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
- 6They prepared the onyx stones by setting them in gold frames and engraving them like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.
- 7Then they mounted the stones on the shoulder straps of the ephod as reminders of the sons of Israel, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
- 8They made the breastplate with the same expert skill used on the ephod, using gold thread, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely twisted linen.
- 9It was square and folded double, measuring 1 span long and 1 span wide when folded.
- 10They mounted 4 rows of gemstones on it. The first row held a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle.
- 11The second row held an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
- 12The third row held a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
- 13The fourth row held a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. Each stone was set in a gold frame.
- 14There were twelve stones, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the children of Israel, representing the twelve tribes.
- 15For the breastplate, they made braided chains of pure gold, twisted like cords.
- 16They also made 2 gold settings and 2 gold rings, and attached the rings to the top 2 corners of the breastplate.
- 17They fastened the 2 braided gold chains to the rings at the top corners of the breastplate.
- 18The other ends of the 2 chains were attached to the gold settings, which were then secured to the front of the ephod's shoulder straps.
- 19They made 2 more gold rings and attached them to the bottom 2 corners of the breastplate, on the inner edge that faced the ephod.
- 20They made yet another pair of gold rings and attached them to the lower front of the ephod's shoulder straps, near the seam and just above the decorative waistband.
- 21Then they tied the breastplate's lower rings to the ephod's rings with a blue cord, keeping it snug against the waistband so the breastplate wouldn't swing loose from the ephod — just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
- 22They made the robe that goes under the ephod entirely from woven blue fabric.
- 23It had an opening at the center for the head, reinforced with a woven collar around the edge so it wouldn't tear.
- 24Along the bottom hem of the robe, they attached pomegranates made of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and twisted linen.
- 25They also made bells of pure gold and placed them between the pomegranates all around the hem of the robe.
- 26The pattern alternated — a bell, then a pomegranate, a bell, then a pomegranate — all the way around the hem of the robe worn for ministry, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
- 27They made tunics of finely woven linen for Aaron and his sons.
- 28They also made the turban of fine linen, the decorative headbands of fine linen, and the undergarments of finely twisted linen.
- 29The sash was made of finely twisted linen with blue, purple, and scarlet embroidery — just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
- 30They made the medallion for the sacred crown out of pure gold and engraved it like a seal with the words: 'HOLINESS TO THE LORD.'
- 31They tied a blue lace to it, to fasten it high on the mitre, as the LORD commanded Moses.
- 32With that, all the work on the tabernacle — the Tent of Meeting — was complete. The people of Israel had done everything exactly as the LORD had commanded Moses.
- 33Then they brought everything to Moses: the tabernacle tent with all its furnishings — the clasps, frames, crossbars, posts, and bases;
- 34the covering of rams' skins dyed red, the covering of badgers' skins, and the veil of the covering;
- 35the ark of the testimony with its carrying poles and the mercy seat;
- 36the table, and all its utensils, and the shewbread;
- 37the pure gold lampstand with its lamps arranged in order, all its accessories, and the oil for lighting;
- 38the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the entrance of the tabernacle;
- 39the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its carrying poles, and all its utensils; the basin and its stand;
- 40the curtains for the courtyard with their posts and bases, the screen for the courtyard entrance, its ropes and tent pegs, and every piece of equipment used in the service of the tabernacle — the Tent of Meeting;
- 41the finely crafted garments for serving in the holy place, the sacred garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to wear while serving as priests.
- 42The people of Israel had completed every part of the work exactly as the LORD had commanded Moses.
- 43Moses inspected all the work, and sure enough, they had done it precisely as the LORD had instructed. So Moses blessed them.
