  1. 1Disaster is coming for those who lie in bed scheming up wicked plans! The moment dawn breaks, they carry them out — simply because they have the power to do it.
  2. 2They see fields they want and seize them. They see houses they want and take them. They crush people, robbing families of their homes and stealing the land their ancestors left them.
  3. 3So this is what the LORD says: "Listen — I am planning a disaster against this people. You won't be able to escape it. You won't walk around so proudly anymore, because this will be a terrible time."
  4. 4On that day, someone will recite a parable against you and lament with a sorrowful lamentation, saying, 'We are utterly ruined! He has changed the portion of my people; how has he taken it from me! He has divided our fields.'
  5. 5"Because of this, you will have no one left to divide land by lot in the assembly of the LORD."
  6. 6"Don't prophesy!" they say to the prophets. "Don't prophesy about these things — disgrace will never touch us!"
  7. 7O house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD limited? Are these his actions? Do not my words bring good to those who walk uprightly?
  8. 8Even recently, my people have risen up as an enemy: you pull off the robe with the garment from those who pass by securely, as men averse from war.
  9. 9You drive the women of my people out of their pleasant houses; you have taken away my glory from their children forever.
  10. 10Get up and leave, for this is not your place of rest. It is polluted and will destroy you, even with a severe destruction.
  11. 11If a man, walking in the spirit and falsehood, lies and says, 'I will prophesy to you about wine and strong drink,' he will be the prophet for this people.
  12. 12I will surely gather all of you, Jacob; I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel. I will put them together like the sheep of Bozrah, like a flock in their fold; they will make a great noise because of the multitude of people.
  13. 13The one who breaks open the way will go ahead of them. They will break through the gate and go out by it. Their king will pass before them, with the LORD at their head.
