  1. 1Those of us who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not to please ourselves.
  2. 2Each of us should please our neighbor for their good, to build them up.
  3. 3For even Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, 'The insults of those who insulted you fell on me.'
  4. 4For whatever things were written in earlier times were written for our learning, so that through patience and the comfort of the Scriptures we might have hope.
  5. 5May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,
  6. 6so that with one mind and one mouth you may glorify God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  7. 7So accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us, to the glory of God.
  8. 8For I say that Christ became a servant to the circumcised for the sake of God's truth, to confirm the promises made to the fathers,
  9. 9and so that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, 'For this reason I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.'
  10. 10And again it says, 'Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.'
  11. 11And again, 'Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him.'
  12. 12And again Isaiah says, 'There will be a root of Jesse, and one who rises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will hope.'
  13. 13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  14. 14I myself am convinced about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct one another.
  15. 15But I have written to you quite boldly on some points, as a reminder to you, because of the grace given to me by God,
  16. 16to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
  17. 17Therefore I have reason to glory through Jesus Christ in the things pertaining to God.
  18. 18For I would not dare to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience — by word and deed,
  19. 19through the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
  20. 20And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel where Christ was not yet named, so that I would not build on another man's foundation.
  21. 21But as it is written, 'Those who were never told about him will see, and those who never heard will understand.'
  22. 22This is why I have been hindered so many times from coming to you.
  23. 23But now, since there is no more room for my work in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to come to you,
  24. 24whenever I travel to Spain, I plan to visit you. For I hope to see you on my journey and to be sent on my way there by you, after I have first enjoyed your company for a while.
  25. 25But now I am going to Jerusalem to serve the saints.
  26. 26For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor saints in Jerusalem.
  27. 27They were pleased to do it, and indeed they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to serve them in material things.
  28. 28So when I have completed this and have delivered this fruit to them, I will go on to Spain by way of you.
  29. 29And I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
  30. 30Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf,
  31. 31that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,
  32. 32so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed together with you.
  33. 33May the God of peace be with all of you. Amen.
