- 1And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.
- 2The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, O Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you. Is this not a brand plucked out of the fire?"
- 3Now Joshua was standing before the angel dressed in filthy clothes.
- 4And he answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, “Take the filthy garments away from him.” And to him he said, “Look, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with a change of clothes.”
- 5Then I said, 'Put a fine turban on his head.' So they placed a fine turban on his head and dressed him in garments while the angel of the LORD stood by.
- 6Then the angel of the LORD gave Joshua this solemn charge:
- 7This is what the LORD of hosts says: 'If you walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you will judge my house and oversee my courts, and I will give you a place to walk among those who stand here.'
- 8Hear now, Joshua the high priest, you and your fellows who sit before you, for they are men wondered at. For look, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.
- 9Look at the stone I have placed in front of Joshua — a single stone with 7 eyes on it. I myself will engrave an inscription on it,' declares the LORD of hosts, 'and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.
- 10On that day,' declares the LORD of hosts, 'each of you will invite your neighbor under your vine and under your fig tree.'
