The Official's Son

⁴⁶So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son was sick at Capernaum. ⁴⁷When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to him and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. ⁴⁸Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe." ⁴⁹The official said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies." ⁵⁰Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. ⁵¹As he was going down, his servants met him and told him, "Your son lives!" ⁵²He asked them the hour when the boy began to get better. They said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." ⁵³The father realized that was the very hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, along with his whole household. ⁵⁴This was again the second sign that Jesus performed after coming from Judea into Galilee.
