18As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19Jesus called out to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." 20Right away they dropped their nets and followed him. 21Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and his brother John, in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them. 22They immediately left the boat and their father and followed him.

About this event

What happened?

Walking by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus saw Simon Peter and his brother Andrew casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. He told them to follow him, and he would make them fishers of men. They left their nets at once and followed him. Then he called James and John, the sons of Zebedee, and they left the boat and their father and followed him.
