The Last Supper

⁷Then the day of Unleavened Bread came, when the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. ⁸He sent Peter and John, saying, 'Go and prepare the Passover for us, so we may eat.' ⁹They asked him, 'Where do you want us to prepare?' ¹⁰He said to them, "When you enter the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house he enters." ¹¹Tell the owner of the house, 'The Master says to you: Where is the guest room where I will eat the Passover with my disciples?' ¹²He will show you a large upstairs room that is furnished. Prepare there. ¹³They went and found everything exactly as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover meal. ¹⁴When the time came, he sat down with the twelve apostles. ¹⁵He said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer." ¹⁶I tell you, I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. ¹⁷Then he took the cup, gave thanks, and said, 'Take this and share it among yourselves.' ¹⁸I tell you, I will not drink from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. ¹⁹Then he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.' ²⁰In the same way, after supper, he took the cup and said, “This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” ²¹But look, the hand of the one who will betray me is here at the table with me. ²²The Son of Man will go as it has been determined, but woe to the man who betrays him! ²³And they began to ask each other which one of them would do this thing.
