What happened?

Saul tried to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragged off men and women, and put them in prison. He later said he voted against believers when they were put to death, and chased them even to foreign cities. He was advancing in the Jewish religion beyond many people his own age, and was extremely zealous for the traditions of his fathers.
