Acts 10:9–16

9The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray around noon. 10He became very hungry and wanted something to eat. But while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being lowered to the earth, held by its four corners. 12Inside it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, crawling creatures, and birds of the air. 13Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat." 14But Peter said, "Absolutely not, Lord! I have never eaten anything common or unclean." 15The voice spoke to him a second time: "What God has made clean, do not call common." 16This happened three times, and then the sheet was taken back up into heaven.
