- 1Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled craftsman in whom the LORD had placed wisdom and understanding to know how to do the work — they all carried out the construction of the sanctuary, exactly as the LORD had commanded.
- 2Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person whose heart the LORD had filled with wisdom — everyone whose heart moved them to come and do the work.
- 3They collected from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought for building the sanctuary. But the people kept bringing additional freewill offerings every morning.
- 4Eventually, all the skilled workers who were doing the various tasks on the sanctuary stopped what they were doing and came to Moses.
- 5They told him, "The people are bringing far more than we need to complete the work the LORD commanded."
- 6So Moses gave an order, and an announcement was sent throughout the camp: 'No man or woman should do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.' This stopped the people from bringing more.
- 7What they already had was more than enough to finish all the work.
- 8Every wise-hearted man among them who worked on the tabernacle made ten curtains of finely woven linen, in blue, purple, and scarlet, with cherubim skillfully crafted into them.
- 9Each curtain measured 28 cubits long and 4 cubits wide. All 10 curtains were exactly the same size.
- 10He joined 5 of the curtains together as one set, and the other 5 curtains together as a second set.
- 11He attached loops of blue fabric along the outer edge of the last curtain in the first set, and did the same along the outer edge of the last curtain in the second set.
- 12He made 50 loops on one curtain and 50 loops on the matching curtain of the second set, with the loops lined up directly across from each other.
- 13Then he made 50 gold clasps and used them to fasten the two sets of curtains together, making the tabernacle one unified structure.
- 14He also made a covering of goat hair to go over the tabernacle, using 11 curtains in all.
- 15Each of these curtains measured 30 cubits long and 4 cubits wide. All 11 were the same size.
- 16He joined 5 of these curtains into one set and the remaining 6 into another set.
- 17He made 50 loops along the outer edge of the last curtain in the first set, and 50 loops along the outer edge of the last curtain in the second set.
- 18He made 50 bronze clasps to fasten the two sets together into one unified tent covering.
- 19He made a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red, and above that, he added another covering made from durable animal skins.
- 20He made upright boards of shittim wood for the tabernacle.
- 21The length of each board was 10 cubits, and the breadth was 1 and a half cubits.
- 22Each frame had 2 tenons spaced evenly apart for joining. He made every frame for the tabernacle this way.
- 23He made 20 frames for the south side of the tabernacle.
- 24Under these 20 frames, he placed 40 silver sockets — 2 sockets under each frame, one for each tenon.
- 25And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward the north corner, he made 20 frames,
- 26along with their 40 silver sockets — 2 sockets under each frame.
- 27For the west end of the tabernacle, he made 6 frames.
- 28He also made two boards for the corners of the tabernacle on the two sides.
- 29These corner frames were joined together at the bottom and connected all the way up to a single ring at the top. He did this for both corners.
- 30So the west end had 8 frames in all, set in 16 silver sockets — 2 sockets under each frame.
- 31He made crossbars of acacia wood — 5 for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,
- 325 for the frames on the other side, and 5 for the frames at the west end.
- 33And he made the middle bar to pass through the boards from one end to the other.
- 34He overlaid the frames with gold, made gold rings to hold the crossbars, and overlaid the crossbars with gold as well.
- 35He made a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cherubim crafted with skill.
- 36He made 4 posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold. Their hooks were gold, and he cast 4 silver sockets for them.
- 37For the entrance to the tent, he made a screen of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely woven linen, decorated with embroidery.
- 38He made 5 posts with hooks for this screen and overlaid their tops and bands with gold. Their 5 sockets were made of bronze.
