- 1The word of the LORD came to me:
- 2"Son of man, turn your face toward the Ammonites and prophesy against them.
- 3Say to the Ammonites, 'Hear the word of the Lord GOD: This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you said, "Aha!" against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity;
- 4Look, therefore I will deliver you to the men of the east for a possession, and they will set their palaces in you and make their dwellings in you: they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.
- 5I will make Rabbah a stable for camels and the Ammonites a place where flocks lie down. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
- 6This is what the Lord GOD says: 'Because you clapped your hands, stomped your feet, and rejoiced in heart with all your spite against the land of Israel—
- 7Look, therefore I will stretch out my hand upon you and deliver you for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut you off from the people, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries: I will destroy you; and you will know that I am the LORD.
- 8This is what the Lord GOD says: Because Moab and Seir say, Look, the house of Judah is like all the nations;
- 9Therefore, look, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim.
- 10I will hand these over to the people of the east, along with the land of the Ammonites, so that the Ammonites will be forgotten among the nations.
- 11I will carry out judgment against Moab, and they will know that I am the LORD.'
- 12This is what the Lord GOD says: 'Because Edom acted against the house of Judah by taking vengeance and has greatly offended by retaliating against them;
- 13Therefore, says the Lord GOD, I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off both people and animals from it. I will make it desolate from Teman, and those of Dedan will fall by the sword.
- 14I will carry out my vengeance against Edom through my people Israel. They will deal with Edom according to my anger and fury, and Edom will know my vengeance, declares the Lord GOD.
- 15This is what the Lord GOD says: Because the Philistines acted out of revenge and took vengeance with a spiteful heart, to destroy because of an old hatred;
- 16Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I will stretch out my hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant of the seacoast.
- 17I will unleash great vengeance on them with furious rebukes. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay my vengeance upon them.
