  1. 1The LORD spoke to me and said,
  2. 2"Son of man, turn and face Mount Seir and prophesy against it.
  3. 3Tell it, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: I am against you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out my hand against you and make you most desolate.
  4. 4I will destroy your cities and leave you desolate. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
  5. 5Because you have had a lasting hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their disaster, in the time that their iniquity had an end,
  6. 6So as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will hand you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you. Since you didn't hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.
  7. 7I will make Mount Seir completely desolate and cut off anyone who passes through or returns.
  8. 8I will fill his mountains with the dead. Those killed by the sword will fall in your hills, your valleys, and all your riverbeds.
  9. 9I will make you lasting desolations, and your cities will not be restored. And you will know that I am the LORD.
  10. 10You said, 'These two nations and their lands—Israel and Judah—will be ours, and we will take possession of them,' even though the LORD was there.
  11. 11Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will even do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have used out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them when I have judged you.
  12. 12Then you will know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all your blasphemies spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, 'They are laid desolate, they are given to us to consume.'
  13. 13You used your mouths to boast against me and multiplied your words against me. I have heard them.
  14. 14This is what the Lord GOD says: When the rest of the earth celebrates, I will make you desolate.
  15. 15As you rejoiced at the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I do to you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Idumea, all of it. And they will know that I am the LORD.
