So prophesy and say: This is what the Lord GOD says: They devastated you and swallowed you up from every direction so that the surrounding nations could claim you as their own. You became the subject of gossip and slander among the peoples.
Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

The word of the LORD comes to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the river Chebar in the land of the Chaldeans. He sees visions of God as the heavens open.
