  1. 1The word of the LORD came to me:
  2. 2"Son of man, turn your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog — the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal — and prophesy against him.
  3. 3Say to him, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
  4. 4I will turn you back and put hooks in your jaws. I will bring you out with your entire army—horses and riders, all of them dressed in various kinds of armor, a great company with shields and bucklers, all of them wielding swords.
  5. 5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya will march with them, all carrying shields and wearing helmets.
  6. 6Gomer and all its troops, the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops, and many people with you.
  7. 7Get ready. Prepare yourself — you and all the armies gathered around you — and take command of them.
  8. 8After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land brought back from the sword and gathered out of many peoples, against the mountains of Israel, which have long been a waste. But it is brought out from the nations, and they will all live safely.
  9. 9You will advance like a storm rolling in. You and all your troops, along with many nations beside you, will sweep over the land like a cloud."
  10. 10This is what the Lord GOD says: At that time, things will come into your mind, and you will think an evil thought.
  11. 11You will say, 'I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will attack those who are at rest, living safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates.'
  12. 12To plunder and loot, to turn your hand against the desolate places that are now inhabited, and against the people gathered from the nations, who have acquired cattle and goods and live in the midst of the land.
  13. 13Sheba, Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all their young lions, will say to you, 'Have you come to take a spoil? Have you gathered your company to take a prey, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?'
  14. 14Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, "This is what the Lord GOD says: In that day when my people Israel live safely, will you not know it?"
  15. 15You will come from your homeland in the far north — you and many nations with you — all of them mounted on horses, a massive and powerful army.
  16. 16You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days, I will bring you against my land so that the heathen may know me when I am sanctified in you, Gog, right before their eyes.
  17. 17This is what the Lord GOD says: “Are you the one I spoke about long ago through my servants, the prophets of Israel? In those days, they prophesied for many years that I would bring you against them.”
  18. 18But on the day Gog invades the land of Israel," declares the Lord GOD, "my burning fury will rise up.
  19. 19In my jealousy and the fire of my wrath, I have spoken: Surely on that day there will be a great shaking in the land of Israel.
  20. 20The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the animals in the field, every creature that crawls on the ground, and every person on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. Mountains will be thrown down, cliffs will crumble, and every wall will collapse to the ground.
  21. 21I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains," declares the Lord GOD. "Every man's sword will be against his brother.
  22. 22I will contend with him using plague and bloodshed. I will pour down on him, his troops, and the many people with him, a torrential rain, massive hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur.
  23. 23In this way I will display my greatness and my holiness. I will make myself known before the eyes of many nations, and they will know that I am the LORD.'"
