  1. 1"Son of man, prophesy against Gog and tell him: This is what the Lord GOD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
  2. 2I will turn you back, leaving only a sixth of you, and bring you from the far north to the mountains of Israel.
  3. 3I will knock the bow from your left hand and cause the arrows to fall from your right hand.
  4. 4You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops, and the people with you. I will give you to every kind of ravenous bird and wild animal to be devoured.
  5. 5You will fall in the open field, because I have spoken it," declares the Lord GOD.
  6. 6I will send fire on the land of Magog and on those who live carelessly in the coastlands. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
  7. 7I will make my holy name known among my people Israel, and I will never again let my holy name be dishonored. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
  8. 8Pay attention — it is coming, and it will happen," declares the Lord GOD. "This is the day I have been talking about.
  9. 9The people living in Israel's cities will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons—shields, bucklers, bows, arrows, war clubs, and spears—and they will burn them with fire for seven years.
  10. 10They won't need to gather wood from the fields or chop trees from the forests, because the weapons alone will supply all the fuel they need. They will plunder those who plundered them and strip those who stripped them," declares the Lord GOD.
  11. 11And it will come to pass on that day that I will give Gog a place of graves in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers east of the sea; and it will stop the travelers. There they will bury Gog and all his multitude, and they will call it the Valley of Hamongog.
  12. 12And for seven months, the house of Israel will be burying them to cleanse the land.
  13. 13Yes, all the people of the land will bury them, and it will be a renown for them on the day I am glorified, says the Lord GOD.
  14. 14They will assign men to a continuous task, traveling through the land to bury any remains still on the ground, to cleanse it. After seven months, they will search.
  15. 15As these workers pass through the land, whenever someone spots a human bone, they will set up a marker beside it so the burial crews can come and take it to the Valley of Hamon-gog.
  16. 16A city nearby will even be named Hamonah. In this way, they will cleanse the land."
  17. 17"Son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Call out to every kind of bird and every wild animal — 'Come together! Gather from every direction to the great sacrifice I am preparing for you on the mountains of Israel. You will feast on flesh and drink blood.
  18. 18You will eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the earth's princes — as though they were rams, lambs, goats, and bulls, all fattened in the rich pastures of Bashan.
  19. 19You will gorge yourselves on fat until you're stuffed and drink blood until you're drunk — all from this sacrifice I have prepared for you.
  20. 20At my table you will be filled with horses and riders, mighty warriors and soldiers of every kind,'" declares the Lord GOD.
  21. 21I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations will see my judgment that I have carried out, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
  22. 22From that day onward, the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God.
  23. 23The nations will know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their enemies. So they all fell by the sword.
  24. 24I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and I hid my face from them.
  25. 25Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob and have mercy on the entire house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name.
  26. 26After they have borne their shame and all their trespasses against me, when they lived safely in their land, and no one made them afraid.
  27. 27When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
  28. 28Then they will know that I am the LORD their God. I was the one who sent them into exile among the nations, and I am the one who gathered them back to their own land, leaving not a single one behind.
  29. 29I will never again hide my face from them, because I have poured out my spirit on the house of Israel," declares the Lord GOD.
