  1. 1Then he brought me to the temple and measured the posts, six cubits wide on one side and six cubits wide on the other side, which was the width of the tabernacle.
  2. 2The entrance itself was 10 cubits wide, with walls extending 5 cubits on each side. He measured the length of the main hall at 40 cubits and its width at 20 cubits.
  3. 3Then he went further inside and measured the doorposts of the inner entrance — 2 cubits each. The entrance was 6 cubits wide, and the walls on either side were 7 cubits wide.
  4. 4He measured the inner room: 20 cubits long and 20 cubits wide, in front of the temple. He told me, "This is the most holy place."
  5. 5Next he measured the outer wall of the temple — 6 cubits thick — and the side rooms that surrounded the temple on every side, each 4 cubits wide.
  6. 6The side rooms were three, one over another, and thirty in a row. They entered into the wall of the house for the side rooms all around, so that they might have support, but they did not have support in the wall of the house.
  7. 7The side chambers became larger as they went higher because the structure of the house wound upward around it. Thus, the width of the house increased from the lowest chamber to the highest through the middle.
  8. 8I also saw the height of the house all around: the foundations of the side rooms were a full reed of six great cubits.
  9. 9The thickness of the wall for the side rooms on the outside was five cubits, and what was left was the place of the side rooms that were within.
  10. 10and the other chambers, measuring 20 cubits wide all around the temple on every side.
  11. 11The side rooms opened onto this open area, with one door facing north and another facing south. The open area was 5 cubits wide all around.
  12. 12A large building stood to the west, facing the temple's restricted area. It was 70 cubits wide, with walls 5 cubits thick all around, and 90 cubits long.
  13. 13He measured the temple itself — 100 cubits long. The restricted area, the western building, and its walls also totaled 100 cubits in length.
  14. 14The width of the temple's east-facing front, including the restricted area, was 100 cubits.
  15. 15He measured the length of the building facing the restricted area behind the temple, including its galleries on both sides — 100 cubits. This included the inner temple and the porches of the courtyard.
  16. 16The thresholds, the narrow windows, and the three-story galleries opposite the doorways were all paneled with wood from the floor up to the windows, and the windows were covered.
  17. 17Above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall all around inside and outside, by measurement.
  18. 18The walls were carved with cherubim and palm trees, with a palm tree between each pair of cherubim. Every cherub had 2 faces:
  19. 19a human face looking toward the palm tree on one side, and a young lion's face looking toward the palm tree on the other side. These carvings covered every wall throughout the entire temple.
  20. 20From the floor all the way up above the doorway, cherubim and palm trees were carved on the temple walls.
  21. 21The doorposts of the main hall were square. The front of the most holy place looked just like the front of the main hall.
  22. 22The wooden altar was three cubits high and two cubits long. Its corners, length, and walls were all made of wood. He said to me, 'This is the table that is before the LORD.'
  23. 23Both the main hall and the most holy place had double doors.
  24. 24Each door had 2 swinging panels — 2 panels for one door and 2 panels for the other.
  25. 25Cherubim and palm trees were carved on the temple doors, just like those on the walls. A wooden canopy covered the front of the outer porch.
  26. 26There were narrow windows and palm trees on both sides of the porch, on the side chambers of the house, and thick planks.
