- 1The Lord GOD says: "The gate of the inner court that faces east must stay shut during the 6 working days, but it will be opened on the Sabbath and on the day of the new moon.
- 2The prince will enter through the porchway of that gate from the outside and stand beside the gatepost. The priests will prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he will worship at the threshold of the gate. Then he will leave, but the gate must not be shut until evening.
- 3The people of the land will also worship at the entrance of this gate before the LORD on the Sabbaths and new moons.
- 4The burnt offering the prince presents to the LORD on the Sabbath will be 6 lambs without any defect and a ram without any defect.
- 5The grain offering will be an ephah of flour for the ram, and for the lambs whatever he is able to give, along with a hin of oil for each ephah.
- 6On the day of the new moon, the offering will be a young bull without defect, 6 lambs, and a ram — all without any defect.
- 7He will prepare a grain offering of an ephah for the bull and an ephah for the ram. For the lambs, he will give whatever he can afford, along with a hin of oil for each ephah.
- 8When the prince enters, he must go in through the porchway of the gate, and he must leave the same way.
- 9But when the people of the land come before the LORD during the solemn feasts, anyone who enters through the north gate to worship must exit through the south gate, and anyone who enters through the south gate must exit through the north gate. No one may leave by the same gate they came in; they must go out the opposite side.
- 10The prince will enter along with the people when they come in, and he will leave when they leave.
- 11At the feasts and appointed celebrations, the grain offering will be an ephah for each bull, an ephah for each ram, and whatever the giver can afford for the lambs, along with a hin of oil for each ephah.
- 12Whenever the prince wants to make a freewill offering to the LORD — whether a burnt offering or peace offerings given voluntarily — the east-facing gate will be opened for him. He will prepare his burnt offering and peace offerings just as he does on the Sabbath. Then he will leave, and after he goes out, the gate will be shut behind him.
- 13Every day you must prepare a year-old lamb without defect as a burnt offering to the LORD. You must prepare it every morning.
- 14Along with it, you must prepare a grain offering every morning: a 6th of an ephah of fine flour moistened with a 3rd of a hin of oil. This grain offering to the LORD is a permanent, ongoing requirement.
- 15So the lamb, the grain offering, and the oil must be prepared every morning as a continual burnt offering."
- 16The Lord GOD says: If the prince gives a gift to any of his sons, it becomes their inheritance. It will be their permanent possession.
- 17But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it belongs to the servant until the year of liberty; after that, it returns to the prince. However, his inheritance will belong to his sons.
- 18The prince must not take the people's inheritance by force or drive them from their property. He should give his sons an inheritance from his own holdings, so that my people are not scattered, each man from his possession.
- 19Then he brought me through the entrance beside the gate into the holy chambers of the priests, which faced north. There, I saw a place on the two sides toward the west.
- 20Then he said to me, "This is the place where the priests will boil the guilt offering and the sin offering, where they will bake the grain offering, so that they do not bring them out into the outer court to make the people holy."
- 21Then he brought me out into the outer court and led me past the 4 corners of the courtyard. In each corner, there was a smaller enclosed court.
- 22In all 4 corners of the court there were enclosed courtyards, each 40 cubits long and 30 cubits wide. All 4 were the same size.
- 23There was a row of structures all around them, with boiling places built under the rows all around.
- 24He said to me, "These are the places where the ministers of the house will boil the sacrifices of the people."
