- 1For Zion's sake, I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake, I will not rest until her righteousness shines like brightness and her salvation like a burning lamp.
- 2The Gentiles will see your righteousness, and all kings will see your glory. You will be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD will name.
- 3You will be a crown of glory in the LORD's hand, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
- 4No one will call you 'Forsaken' anymore, and your land will never again be called 'Desolate.' Instead, you will be called Hephzibah, and your land will be called Beulah, because the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married.
- 5Just as a young man marries a virgin, your sons will marry you. Just as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, your God will rejoice over you.
- 6Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls who will never be silent, day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
- 7and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a place the whole earth praises.
- 8The LORD has sworn an oath by his own mighty hand and powerful arm: "Never again will I let your enemies eat the grain you harvested. Never again will foreigners drink the wine you worked so hard to produce.
- 9But those who have gathered it will eat it and praise the LORD, and those who have brought it together will drink it in the courts of my holiness.
- 10Go through the gates, go through them; prepare the way for the people; build up the highway, build it up; remove the stones; lift up a banner for the people.
- 11Look, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the world: Say to the daughter of Zion, "Look, your salvation is coming; look, his reward is with him, and his work before him."
- 12They will be called "The Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD." And you, Jerusalem, will be known as "Sought After, A City No Longer Forsaken."
