- 1The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
- 2"Tell the people of Israel: These are the appointed feasts of the LORD that you are to announce as sacred assemblies. These are my feasts.
- 3You may work for 6 days, but the 7th day is a Sabbath of complete rest — a sacred assembly. You must not do any work on that day. It is a Sabbath dedicated to the LORD, wherever you live.
- 4These are the appointed feasts of the LORD — sacred assemblies you are to announce at their proper times.
- 5The LORD's Passover begins on the evening of the 14th day of the 1st month.
- 6Then on the 15th day of that same month, the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD begins. For 7 days you must eat bread made without yeast.
- 7On the 1st day, hold a sacred assembly. Don't do any regular work.
- 8Present an offering made by fire to the LORD each of the 7 days. On the 7th day, hold another sacred assembly. Don't do any regular work."
- 9The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
- 10"Tell the people of Israel: When you enter the land I am giving you and you harvest its crops, bring a sheaf from the first grain you cut to the priest.
- 11The priest will wave the sheaf before the LORD so it will be accepted on your behalf. He is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
- 12On the same day you present the wave offering, sacrifice a 1-year-old male lamb without any defect as a burnt offering to the LORD.
- 13Along with it, bring a grain offering of 2 tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil — an offering made by fire, producing an aroma pleasing to the LORD. Also bring a drink offering of wine, 1/4 of a hin.
- 14Don't eat any bread, roasted grain, or fresh grain until that very day — until you have brought this offering to your God. This is a permanent law for every generation, wherever you live.
- 15Starting from the day after the Sabbath — the day you brought the sheaf as a wave offering — count off 7 full weeks.
- 16Count 50 days, up to the day after the 7th Sabbath, and then present a new grain offering to the LORD.
- 17From wherever you live, bring 2 loaves of bread as a wave offering. Make them from 2 tenths of an ephah of fine flour, baked with yeast. They are an offering of firstfruits to the LORD.
- 18Along with the bread, present 7 1-year-old lambs without defect, 1 young bull, and 2 rams. These will be a burnt offering to the LORD, together with their grain offering and drink offerings — an offering made by fire, producing an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
- 19Then sacrifice 1 male goat as a sin offering and 2 1-year-old male lambs as a peace offering.
- 20The priest will wave the 2 lambs together with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the LORD. They are holy to the LORD and belong to the priest.
- 21On that same day, announce a sacred assembly. Don't do any regular work. This is a permanent law for every generation, wherever you live.
- 22When you harvest your land, don't cut all the way to the edges of your field, and don't go back to pick up what you missed. Leave that for the poor and for foreigners. I am the LORD your God."
- 23The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
- 24Tell the people of Israel: On the first day of the seventh month, you are to have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.
- 25Don't do any regular work. Present an offering made by fire to the LORD."
- 26The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
- 27The 10th day of this 7th month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy gathering for you; you shall afflict your souls and present an offering made by fire to the LORD.
- 28Do no work at all on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the LORD your God.
- 29For any soul that does not humble themselves on that day, they shall be cut off from among their people.
- 30And any soul that does any work on that day, I will destroy that soul from among his people.
- 31You must not do any work at all. This is a permanent law for every generation, wherever you live.
- 32It shall be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall afflict your souls. Beginning on the evening of the 9th day of the month, from evening to evening, you shall observe your Sabbath.
- 33The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
- 34"Tell the people of Israel: The Feast of Tabernacles to the LORD begins on the 15th day of this 7th month and lasts for 7 days.
- 35On the 1st day, hold a sacred assembly. Don't do any regular work.
- 36For 7 days, present offerings made by fire to the LORD. On the 8th day, hold a sacred assembly and present an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a closing assembly — don't do any regular work.
- 37These are the appointed feasts of the LORD that you are to announce as sacred assemblies — times for presenting offerings made by fire to the LORD: burnt offerings, grain offerings, sacrifices, and drink offerings, each on its proper day.
- 38These are in addition to the LORD's Sabbaths, and in addition to your gifts, all your vow offerings, and all your freewill offerings that you give to the LORD.
- 39Also, beginning on the 15th day of the 7th month, after you have gathered your crops, celebrate the LORD's feast for 7 days. The 1st day is a day of complete rest, and the 8th day is also a day of complete rest.
- 40On the 1st day, gather fruit from majestic trees, palm branches, boughs from leafy trees, and willows from the brook. Then celebrate with joy before the LORD your God for 7 days.
- 41Celebrate this feast to the LORD for 7 days each year. This is a permanent law for every generation — celebrate it in the 7th month.
- 42Live in temporary shelters for 7 days. Every native-born Israelite must live in these shelters,
- 43so that your descendants will know that I made the people of Israel live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the LORD your God."
- 44Moses announced all of the LORD's appointed feasts to the people of Israel.
