- 1I looked up again, and there in front of me was a scroll flying through the air.
- 2The angel asked me, "What do you see?" I answered, "I see a flying scroll — it's 20 cubits long and 10 cubits wide."
- 3Then he told me, "This is the curse going out across the entire land. On one side it says that everyone who steals will be cut off, and on the other side it says that everyone who swears falsely will be cut off.
- 4"I will send it out," declares the LORD of hosts, "and it will enter the house of every thief and the house of everyone who swears falsely by my name. It will settle inside that house and destroy it completely — timber and stone alike."
- 5Then the angel who had been speaking with me stepped forward and said, "Look up now and see what's coming."
- 6I asked, “What is it?” He answered, “This is an ephah that is going out.” He also said, “This is their appearance throughout all the earth.”
- 7Then the lead cover on the basket was lifted up, and there inside it sat a woman.
- 8The angel said, "This woman is Wickedness." He shoved her back down into the ephah basket and slammed the heavy lead lid over its opening.
- 9I looked up again and saw 2 women emerging with the wind beneath their wings — they had wings like a stork's. They lifted the ephah basket up into the air between earth and the heavens.
- 10I asked the angel who was talking with me, "Where are they taking the basket?"
- 11He answered, "To build it a house in the land of Shinar, where it will be established and set on its own base."
