The Weeds Among the Wheat

²⁴Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who planted good seed in his field. ²⁵But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and scattered weeds among the wheat, then slipped away. ²⁶When the wheat sprouted and began forming grain, the weeds appeared too. ²⁷The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you plant good seed in your field? Where did all these weeds come from?' ²⁸He told them, 'An enemy did this.' The servants asked, 'Do you want us to go pull them up?' ²⁹"'No,' he said, 'because if you pull up the weeds, you might uproot the wheat along with them. ³⁰Let them both grow together until harvest time. Then I'll tell the harvesters: First, collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned. Then gather the wheat into my barn.'"
