  1. 1Moreover, he made a bronze altar, 20 cubits long, 20 cubits wide, and 10 cubits high.
  2. 2He also made a molten sea, which was round, measuring 10 cubits from rim to rim, 5 cubits high, and 30 cubits around.
  3. 3Beneath the rim, figures of oxen encircled it — 10 per cubit all the way around. The oxen were arranged in two rows and were cast as one piece with the basin.
  4. 4The Sea rested on twelve oxen—three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The basin sat on top of them, and all their hindquarters faced inward.
  5. 5The basin's walls were a handbreadth thick, and its rim was shaped like a cup with lily blossoms. It could hold 3,000 baths.
  6. 6He made ten basins and placed five on the right side and five on the left. These were used for washing the items needed for burnt offerings. The Sea, however, was reserved for the priests to wash in.
  7. 7He made 10 gold lampstands according to their design and placed them in the temple — 5 on the right side and 5 on the left.
  8. 8He also made 10 tables and placed them in the temple — 5 on the right side and 5 on the left. In addition, he made 100 gold bowls.
  9. 9He built the courtyard for the priests and the large outer courtyard, along with doors for the courtyard, and he overlaid those doors with bronze.
  10. 10He placed the Sea on the right side of the east end, facing the south.
  11. 11Huram also made the pots, shovels, and bowls. With that, Huram completed all the work he had been commissioned to do for King Solomon in the house of God:
  12. 12That is, the two pillars, the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars.
  13. 13and four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the rounded tops of the capitals on the pillars;
  14. 14the movable stands, and the basins mounted on them;
  15. 15the single great Sea, with the 12 oxen beneath it;
  16. 16Huram his father also made the pots, the shovels, the fleshhooks, and all their instruments of bright brass for King Solomon, for the house of the LORD.
  17. 17The king had them cast in clay molds in the Jordan Valley, in the area between Succoth and Zeredathah.
  18. 18Solomon made so many of these items that the total weight of the bronze could not be determined.
  19. 19Solomon also made all the furnishings for the house of God: the golden altar, the tables that held the bread of the Presence,
  20. 20the lampstands and their lamps of pure gold, designed to burn in front of the inner sanctuary as prescribed,
  21. 21the flower decorations, the lamps, and the tongs — all made of the finest gold;
  22. 22the wick trimmers, bowls, ladles, and firepans — all of pure gold. The doors at the entrance to the temple were also gold, both the inner doors leading to the Most Holy Place and the main doors of the temple hall.
