- 1And you shall make an altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide; the altar shall be square, and its height shall be three cubits.
- 2Make a horn at each of its 4 corners, formed as one piece with the altar itself. Then overlay the whole thing with bronze.
- 3Make all of its equipment out of bronze: pots for collecting the ashes, shovels, basins, meat hooks, and fire pans.
- 4Make a bronze grating of mesh work for it, and attach a bronze ring to each of its 4 corners.
- 5Place this grating beneath the altar's ledge so that it reaches halfway up the altar.
- 6Make carrying poles for the altar out of acacia wood and overlay them with bronze.
- 7Slide the poles through the rings on both sides of the altar so it can be carried.
- 8Build the altar hollow, using planks. Make it exactly as I showed you on the mountain."
- 9"Next, build a courtyard around the tabernacle. The south side must have curtains of finely woven linen stretching 100 cubits long.
- 10These curtains will hang from 20 pillars set in 20 bronze bases. The hooks and connecting rods on the pillars must be silver.
- 11The north side will be the same: curtains 100 cubits long, hung from 20 pillars set in 20 bronze bases, with silver hooks and connecting rods.
- 12The west side of the courtyard will have curtains 50 cubits wide, hung from 10 pillars set in 10 bases.
- 13The east side — the front of the courtyard — will also be 50 cubits wide.
- 14On one side of the entrance, hang 15 cubits of curtains from 3 pillars set in 3 bases.
- 15On the other side of the entrance, hang another 15 cubits of curtains from 3 pillars set in 3 bases.
- 16For the entrance gate itself, make a screen 20 cubits wide out of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely woven linen, decorated with embroidery. It will hang from 4 pillars set in 4 bases.
- 17Every pillar around the courtyard must have silver connecting rods and silver hooks, all set in bronze bases.
- 18The entire courtyard will be 100 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 5 cubits tall, enclosed with curtains of finely woven linen hung from bronze bases.
- 19All the vessels used in the service of the tabernacle, along with all the pins for the tabernacle and the courtyard, must be made of brass.
- 20Command the children of Israel to bring you pure, beaten olive oil for the light, so the lamp can burn continuously.
- 21In the tabernacle of the congregation, outside the veil which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the LORD. This shall be a statute forever for their generations on behalf of the children of Israel.
