  1. 1These are the sons born to David while he lived in Hebron: His firstborn was Amnon, whose mother was Ahinoam from Jezreel. His second was Daniel, whose mother was Abigail from Carmel.
  2. 2The 3rd was Absalom, whose mother was Maachah, the daughter of King Talmai of Geshur. The 4th was Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith.
  3. 3The 5th was Shephatiah, whose mother was Abital. The 6th was Ithream, whose mother was David's wife Eglah.
  4. 4These 6 sons were born to him in Hebron, where he reigned for 7 years and 6 months. He then reigned in Jerusalem for 33 years.
  5. 5These sons were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon — 4 sons by Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel.
  6. 6He also had Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet,
  7. 7Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
  8. 8Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet — 9 sons in all.
  9. 9These were all of David's sons, not counting the sons born to his concubines. Tamar was their sister.
  10. 10Solomon's son was Rehoboam, whose son was Abia, whose son was Asa, whose son was Jehoshaphat,
  11. 11whose son was Joram, whose son was Ahaziah, whose son was Joash,
  12. 12whose son was Amaziah, whose son was Azariah, whose son was Jotham,
  13. 13whose son was Ahaz, whose son was Hezekiah, whose son was Manasseh,
  14. 14whose son was Amon, whose son was Josiah.
  15. 15Josiah's sons were: Johanan the firstborn, Jehoiakim the 2nd, Zedekiah the 3rd, and Shallum the 4th.
  16. 16Jehoiakim's sons were: Jeconiah and Zedekiah.
  17. 17The sons of Jeconiah were Assir and Salathiel, his son.
  18. 18along with Malchiram, Pedaiah, Shenazar, Jecamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
  19. 19Pedaiah's sons were Zerubbabel and Shimei. Zerubbabel's sons were Meshullam and Hananiah, and Shelomith was their sister.
  20. 20There were also Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, and Jushabhesed — 5 in all.
  21. 21Hananiah's sons were Pelatiah and Jesaiah. Then came the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, and the sons of Shechaniah.
  22. 22Shechaniah's son was Shemaiah. Shemaiah's sons were Hattush, Igeal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat — 6 in all.
  23. 23Neariah's sons were Elioenai, Hezekiah, and Azrikam — 3 in all.
  24. 24Elioenai's sons were Hodaiah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Dalaiah, and Anani — 7 in all.
