1. 1The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
2. 2"Tell the people of Israel: Anyone among the Israelites — or any foreigner living in Israel — who sacrifices any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the community must stone that person.
3. 3I myself will turn against that person and cut him off from his people, because by sacrificing his child to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and dishonored my holy name.
4. 4If the people of the community look the other way when someone sacrifices his child to Molech and don't put him to death,
5. 5then I will turn against that person and his entire family. I will cut off from their people everyone who followed him in being unfaithful to me by worshiping Molech.
6. 6And the soul that turns to those with familiar spirits, and to wizards, being unfaithful by seeking them out, I will set my face against that soul and cut him off from his people.
7. 7"So set yourselves apart and be holy, because I am the LORD your God.
8. 8Obey my laws and follow them. I am the LORD who makes you holy.
9. 9"Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death. He cursed his own parents — he is responsible for his own death.
10. 10"If a man commits adultery with another man's wife — with his neighbor's wife — both the man and the woman must be put to death.
11. 11"If a man sleeps with his father's wife, he has dishonored his father. Both of them must be put to death. They are responsible for their own deaths.
12. 12"If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. What they have done is a perversion. They are responsible for their own deaths.
13. 13"If a man sleeps with another man as one sleeps with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They must be put to death. They are responsible for their own deaths.
14. 14"If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wickedness. All 3 of them must be burned with fire, so that such wickedness does not exist among you.
15. 15"If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal as well.
16. 16"If a woman approaches any animal and has sexual relations with it, you must kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death. They are responsible for their own deaths.
17. 17"If a man takes his sister — whether his father's daughter or his mother's daughter — and they see each other's nakedness, it is a disgraceful thing. They must be cut off publicly before their people. He has exposed his own sister's nakedness, and he will bear the punishment for his sin.
18. 18"If a man sleeps with a woman during her monthly period and exposes her nakedness, he has laid bare her flow of blood, and she has uncovered it as well. Both of them must be cut off from their people.
19. 19"You must not have sexual relations with your mother's sister or your father's sister, because that dishonors a close relative. Both will bear the punishment for their sin.
20. 20"If a man sleeps with his uncle's wife, he has dishonored his uncle. They will bear the consequences of their sin and will die childless.
21. 21"If a man marries his brother's wife, it is an act of impurity. He has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.
22. 22"So obey all my laws and all my rules, and follow them. Otherwise the land I am bringing you into to live in will vomit you out.
23. 23Don't adopt the practices of the nations I am driving out ahead of you. They did all these things, and I was disgusted by them.
24. 24But I have promised you: you will take possession of their land. I will give it to you as your own — a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from all other peoples.
25. 25So you must distinguish between clean and unclean animals, and between clean and unclean birds. Do not make your souls detestable by any animal, bird, or creature that moves along the ground, which I have declared unclean for you.
26. 26You must be holy to me, because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from all other peoples to be mine.
27. 27Any man or woman who has a familiar spirit, or who is a wizard, must surely be put to death. They must be stoned with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.
